No verdigris, and the only notable mark is a fine, very old vertical scratch hidden in the toning in the field before the neck. MDS-LDS with a fine die crack through the top of NITED. Lot 230		1816 N-2 R1 AU50. Mint state sharpness but there are numerous tiny nicks on the left side of the obverse, none significant but too many for a mint state cent. The only other defect is a tiny planchet lamination at the dentil tips under the end of the wreath ribbon (as struck). Frosty bluish steel and chocolate with traces of very faded mint color peeking through in a few of the protected areas. E-MDS. Lot 240		1817 N-8 R2 VF30 "Mouse". Glossy steel brown and chocolate with frosty lighter brown in protected areas on the reverse. A small spot of darker toning right of OF is the only mark. LDS with a "Finger Mouse" break extending up from the top of the head under star 8. The depression in the field under star 5 that is associated with the later states of this variety is clear to the unaided eye. An attractive example of this popular "Mouse" break variety. Lot 250		1818 N-4 R4+ G6. A couple points sharper but there are two rather large, dull nicks at the bottom of the bust. The surfaces are decent but extremely fine roughness covers the fields and protected areas under the rather glossy dark chocolate brown and steel toning. The devices are a lighter shade of chocolate brown creating a two-tone appearance on the obverse. Lot 252		1818 N-7 R1 PCGS Genuine, Uncirculated Details, Cleaning. The obverse is lustrous steel brown and chocolate with underlying very faded red from an old cleaning. The reverse is lustrous light golden olive and tan. While the obverse clearly looks like it was cleaned, the toning on the reverse appears to be original. No marks or other defects. LDS with a small but clearly defined cud break connecting the top of the O in OF to the rim above. Our grade is Mint State sharpness net AU55 for the cleaned obverse.
